Fitness Models

Fitness models embody what most people strive for in our looks. They are physically fit and usually very attractive. This web site brings you photos and videos of some of the best looking fitness models along with their stories of how they got there. You can vote on who you believe deserves to be the best, based on their health, toning, muscle mass and physical appearance and body shape.

Fitness Models Exercise Regimen

Fitness models use their body to its extreme by toning and sculpting their body into what they want it to be. This is not always easy since you have to work a variety of muscle groups to maintain the perfectly balanced body. Otherwise certain muscles will be overdeveloped giving an odd appearance and even contorting the body, and for fitness models, that would be a disaster.

For example: you really like doing certain body exercise, but don't like other ones so you start to concentrate on the ones you enjoy or find easy. After a time the muscles you work hard get stronger and start to pull on your weaker ones that you are not working as much. Your body then will not look perfectly proportioned and for a fitness model that wants to get lots of work this would be a bad thing, unless of course you want to be one of those totally ripped no-neck Joe type muscle fitness models.

Avoiding an over developed and uneven body is important when wanting to become a fitness model. A good way to do this is to hire a fitness instructor to help create a workout plan. You can use the guide for many months after the personal trainer developed it. Since fitness models have to have their entire body look good, it is very important not to overwork certain muscle groups otherwise you will not maintain the balanced body image that is so sought after in fitness models.

Fitness Models Versus Strength models

Fitness models are different from Strength models, who work at conditioning their body for maximum strength not endurance so these body types are typically very muscular. Strength models are the type of fitness models that would appear in muscle magazines such as Muscle and Fitness. They can lift very heavy weights, but usually only do a small amount of repetitions before they are exhausted. While not everyone finds the overly muscular body attractive, there are enough people out there that do to create a multimillion dollar industry built around muscle fitness and the fitness models that cater to this look.

From my own experience in the gym it is very important not to overdo it when working out. This also applies to lifting weights, since your body has to get used to lifting the heavier weights gradually. For example let us say you have been lifting 50 pound weights for a while and even though your muscles can lift a 70 pound dumbbell your joints and tendons are not used to it and it can be very easy to hurt your body if you jump up in weight too soon. I would recommend hiring a fitness instructor to help design a weight lifting regimen for you, as opposed to just winging it.

Health and Fitness Models That Look and Feel Good

Fitness models that are physically fit but not in an extreme way are health models of the most desirable body types by the general public. That is why you see many more health and fitness models working than the strength models. Typically a fitness model in this category will be in good physical shape but not overly muscular. All body types can fall into this category, since you can have someone who is skinny but is in top condition for marathon running or someone who is slightly muscular where you can see the six pack muscles and the definition between the abs and the pubic area.

Health and Female Fitness Models

Many women’s magazines employ these types of fitness sculptures on the covers of their editions. The magazine called Shape tends to use one or two female fitness models for a very long time so landing one of these modeling contracts can be very lucrative and give you a lot of exposure. Vey often these long term fitness modeling contracts contain clauses that allow the magazine to break out of the agreement should the model become less than idea in appearance.

So if the model gains to much visible weight or losses their body toning, the magazine can drop their modeling contract. The pressure to stay in shape can have a negative impact on a person and can cause some fitness models to use tactics that have been used by fashion models for years. Purging after eating or eating just a little can still give them the appearance of being fit, however these tactics play havoc on their real health.
